    Lots of films, an impression

Walt before Mickey I thought that I was going to watch a documentary about the live of Walt Disney, but it turned out to be an actual feature film. I have always been a huge Disney fan, but I knew little of the man behind the films. I can sing all the songs from the Beauty and the beast, the little mermaid, Pocahontas and the lion king, but I never knew about the development of their creation. This film has made me an even bigger fan, if that’s even possible. Walt truly poured his soul into that company, and I, for one, am most grateful. A true recommendation to all…

Character review of the Wheel of Time #6

I started the wheel of time series, written by Robert Jordan, about one year ago. Before I started this series, I read the Sword of Truth series by Terry Goodkind. I absolutely loved this series, the amazing characters and the compelling story. I needed it to continue, but I had read all the books that were out, so I started the search for something new. That is when I discovered the Wheel of Time series. Because I loved Goodkind’s books so much, it was really hard for me to get into this new story, so many things were different and so many things were the same. Both things annoyed me.…

Series and the power of the Gilmore Girls

When I put all the time I have spent watching series together, I believe it will be more than a year of my life. It might have all started with Nickelodeon when I was about eleven years old. Saved by the Bell, Sweet Valley High, Lizzy MCguire etcetera. My love for series originates from a deep enjoyment of entering different worlds or realities. I would imagine myself in the different settings and dream about how different my life would be there. I didn’t do this because my real life wasn’t good enough, but because it really makes me happy to experience more. Even after watching so many series, I still…

Tomb Raider – the impact of Lara Croft

When I was really really young, I used to sit next to my brothers in front of the only computer we had in the house and watch them play Tomb Raider. I completely fell in love with Lara Croft. Of course, who didn’t? Back then she was nothing more than a pointy breasted pixel chick. But the way she could climb, jump around and take care of herself with a range of different weapons gave me a lot of adventurous action dreams in which I was the heroine. Then around the age of twelve I finally started playing the game myself. Well… a little different maybe than others. I bought Tomb…

    The sword of destiny

As the title may suggest, this movie tries to be an epic, fantasy-like, romantic, fighting mixture. Sadly for me, or anyone who should watch this movie, The sword of destiny may try hard, but it never quite gets there. The reason might be all those stiff and at the same time overly exaggerated Asian actors trying to speak English, or the badly written script, or the badly written storyline lacking any attention span whatsoever. The thing is this movie kind of sucks… ass… but I’m going to tell you why I liked it anyway. First of all everything is beautiful. Starting with the actors. I don’t mean that they are Hollywood hot, but…
